Listening to: "Taking Over Me" - Evanescence

Wow, it's been months since I blogged here. Things have been really crazy, I guess.

Since last post, I've graduated (yay!), gotten a job (yay, money!), and started Statistics (boo). It's been really crazy, but things are going well.

I'm already signed up for classes at Iowa. I'm really looking forward to it; they're really cool classes. At least, I think they will be.

Anyway, here's a list of 'em. Should be interesting next year, to be sure.

  • Elementary Latin I: 8:30 - 9:20, MTWThF
Yay, I get to take Latin! This should be a really, really fun class. At least I'll be interested in it, unlike Spanish. Yech.

  • Speaking and Reading: 9:30 - 10:20, MWF
Ah, Rhetoric. Despite the elementary-sounding name of this class, it's actually the highest Rhetoric class you can take. I tested out of everything else.

  • Issues in Medieval Society; Italian Urbalism: 10:30 - 11:20, TTh
This one'll definitely appeal to my interest in the Middle Ages. It talks about things like feudalism, and looking at both the physical and ideological mechanics of urbanization. Whee, big words. But all in all, it should be a fun class.

  • Intro to Computer Science: Lecture 11:30 - 12:20, MWF; Discussion 9:30 - 10:20, T
All of my English Major friends were shocked when I picked this class to take. What can I say; I like fiddling around with programming languages. It'll be fun, and I'll probably learn something useful out of it.

  • Love and Glory; Literature of Rome: Lecture 4:30 - 5:20 MW; Discussion 1:30 - 2:20, F
In this class, I get to read stuff by Plautus, Julius Caesar, Cicero, Virgil, Ovid, Lucan, and St Augustine. Whee, classical literature! If nothing else, it'll force me to read stories and epics that I've been meaning to for ages. It'll be good for me.
In addition to all of those classes, I've also managed to score an internship with someone in the photography field. The guy who takes my school yearbook's pictures is based out of Iowa City, so I paid him a visit during Orientation. $10 an hour, on the weekends. It's a very nice internship; I'm very happy with it.

Next year's going to be very interesting indeed. Now all I need to do is buy my textbooks, and earn enough for a laptop. Whee, laptop!

Location: the school library

For those of you who saw last night's entry, I apologize; I'm not sure why I posted that. I think it was just the product of a very lonely and depressing day.

I'm actually a lot better now. A good romance novel and a round of Trivial Pursuit with the family, and I'm good to go now. I'm sorry if I worried any of you.

So now I'm going to get to work on those darn local scholarships. Whee, fun! ^_^
